Reflection: Discourse and Questioning Referring to Specific Details and Examples to Explain the Text Bud Not Buddy - Section 5: Closure

The discourse and questioning in which my students engaged as part of the book discussion was very useful for them as they completed the Character Analysis graphic organizer on various characters other than Bud from the book Bud, Not Buddy.  The graphic organizer served as a detailed guide of character analysis and required my students to not only describe the characters but to cite evidence to back up their descriptions.  Thus, the lesson was aligned with CCSS key ELA shift #2 - Evidence:  Reading, writing, and speaking grounded in evidence from text, both literary and informational.
