Reflection: Relevance The Silence Experiment: Learning from Faber - Section 3: Reflecting on Being Silent


Wow. Here are some of the comments I heard when our silence ended:


"That was awful. I felt so alone."

"It was refreshing."

"Weird. My brain just thought about things."

"It was just, like, stream-of-consciousness."


These are powerful statements. I don't think the activity convinced most to build some quiet time into their day, but I hope that it encouraged them to face themselves and to connect more with the message of the text. We aren't exactly like Mildred, but there is a little Mildred in all of us.
