The students seemed to value what they have learned about narration (W.9-10.3) and about characterization (RL.9-10.3) as in the following student excerpt:

I believe that my writing has been developing really well. While writing this I was watching a few Teen Drama T.v shows and I used the shows to help me create an idea. I honestly love writing, I love the feeling I get when I write and I feel like i'm in a different world. I can write whatever i want because this is my story. I just have to work on my grammar. I think my grammar is so bad because I get so caught up into writing.
