Reflection: Intrinsic Motivation The Recitation of Antony's Speech Jig: Analysis of Antony's Speech and Language (Day 2 of 2) - Section 1: Group Memorization Practice

Diverse Entry Points.  I want to take a minute to reflect on diverse entry points as well as culture for learning.  By now, the class is fully participating in this activity.  We added the last couple of motions  to our running exercise, and with just a little cajoling, all of the students participated.  Moreover, certain students who have lacked a taste for the dry analytical approach to language were seen to find this activity very engaging.  I can see them appreciate the words as we act this out.  In particular, the movement for "ambitious" was pretty fun and funny.  The students who acted it out did a bit of a swaggering curtsy, and it was fun to try to copy them.  All of this  will lead to the students performing a memorized rendition of the passage as well as doing a bit of written analysis on the test.
