Reflection: Students with Disabilities What is a Biography? - Section 2: Independent Practice

I made this assignment accessible to all students. I checked out biography books on various levels from the local library and incorporated technology. I also chose books based on student interests. One of my special needs students loves soccer, so I made sure there were books on soccer players at his independent reading level. He finds it difficult to write, so I allowed him to use a program where he can write on the surface of a tablet with his finger. That allowed him to focus on reading versus struggling with a pencil. He was motivated by the tablet, so I did not have to sit with him and urge him to write.
