I was part of the pilot for Teacher Effectiveness this year in my district and was evaluated by my principal recently. One area that I scored a 3 instead of a 4 in was that I did not show evidence that students were not developing their own assessments. So, I included a rubric in this quiz that assesses the standards, but allows an area for the student to choose one more thing to assess on their project. I plan to use this version of this rubric next year as I adjust my practice to not only meet CCSS standards, but also the Teacher Effectiveness Standards. It appears that we must adjust our practice to including students to lead in assessing themselves formally.

Objective: SWBAT show they can measure and convert the units to a smaller unit.

Big Idea: Students show their ability to choose the correct unit to measure their own foot to design a functional shoe and market it using an Educreations Video. This is the second part of the assessment for the unit.
