Reflection: Students with Disabilities Famous Father Kino - Section 3: From Notes to Artifact

Students with special needs need extra support to connect to new learning. When they are ready to write I ask them to start by thinking of something they already know and try to make a connection to what they might already know. I either call a small group together or meet individually as I walk around the room monitoring. For this lesson, I ask them to think back to Columbus and the readings we completed. I then have them review their notes and reread to see if they can connect. Once they have made at least one connection I leave them to write their thoughts down for a response.
