Reflection: Students with Disabilities Number the Stars Bio Poem - Section 2: Personal Practice

For this part of the lesson students needed to use themselves as the muse for their writing. I have a student that is visually impaired and is not working at the fourth grade level. During this part of the lesson, I had her work with another teacher. I had the teacher mark the lines with an X to show where she would be writing and asked the teacher to share in the writing task. With support she was able to completely join in the activity and wrote a very personal Bio Poem that reflects herself. This is one of those assignments that you add to their IEP portfolio to show the parents the growth she has made this year.
