Reflection: Lesson Planning Fruit Loop Fun - Section 2: Independent Practice


I like this lesson as a quick informal assessment. Sorting by color is generally the easiest concept in sorting. When students do well, it is an indication to me that I should move on to another sorting concept. The kids were very excited to use Fruit Loops, which kept the level of interest high.

Objective: Students will be able to classify objects into given categories, count the number of objects in each category, and sort the categories by count.

Big Idea: Using Fruit Loops, students will sort by color, count, and enjoy a yummy snack!
