Reflection: Writing Across the Disciplines Graphing Systems of Equations - Section 4: Collaborative Work: Graphing Systems


I believe that my curriculum is relatively flexible and meets the need for a wider range of students. I also realize that there are always going to be areas where I could make tasks more challenging, especially for my most advanced students. 

In this lesson, I provided an additional Matching Activity to provide an additional level of challenge for advanced students. This activity works well because it is an extra credit assignment that asks students to not only collaborate, but also justify their thinking by citing evidence

Upon reflecting on this lesson, I think the matching activity would actually benefit most of my students, and I am planning on implementing the matching activity to all of my students next school year.

Objective: SWBAT graph systems of linear functions to find common points/solutions. SWBAT define variables and create equations to model a system of equations.

Big Idea: Students use technology to create and interpret systems of equations graphically!
