Reflection: Learning Communities Creating and Interpreting Equations to Solve Systems - Section 1: Entry Ticket

At my high school the Algebra I teachers have a common unit trajectory based on Understanding by Design (UbD) principles. In this reflection, I discuss the process of implementing the common curriculum map and unit trajectory into the classroom as a team.

Creating and Interpreting Equations to Solve Systems

Unit 4: Making Informed Decisions with Systems of Equations
Lesson 1 of 12

Objective: SWBAT create and solve systems of equations that model real-life scenarios. SWBAT connect to, build on, and challenge a partner's ideas.

Big Idea: Students create systems of equations and attempt to solve them as an introduction to the relevance of solving systems of equations and inequalities!
