Reflection: Online Resources Poetry: Writing Couplets - Section 2: Mini-Lesson

Students really enjoy writing Couplet poems because they are simple and they love to rhyme, but one thing they struggle with is coming up with words that rhyme and still make sense. If your students have access to technology in the classroom, it’s a good idea to show them how to use a search engine to find websites that can help. For example, if they can’t think of a word that rhymes with their first line, they can search for it online. There are many helpful websites that will list suggestions and students can choose from those.
