Reflection: Standards Alignment Man Made Monsters/Frankenstein Excerpt - Section 1: Man Made Monsters

My biggest challenge in the transition to the CCSS has related to the incorporation of mythological and other allusions, featured in RL 8.9.  It's not that there isn't a ton of literature that employs this literary device; it's just that there aren't many connections within our textbook or book room novels, so it is up to the teacher to forge the connections and provide the literature.

This lesson, which was a sub plan, touched on the Prometheus myth, but it represents a bit of a missed opportunity.  In the future, I think I will expand on this idea and build in more background.
