Reflection: Connection to Prior Knowledge Using pictures to teach the 5 W's - Section 1: Warm Up


Being able to teach to the common core standards is made so much more interesting and entertaining by the use of videos.  i used the video of the 5 W's in my warm up.  The videos are so much more fun to watch than I am.  I like to include educational videos to my lessons.  When writing a 5 W paper and a student has difficulty, I begin singing the song from the video.  They all sing the song and keep writing.  Songs and chants are a wonderful way to teach to the standards.
