Reflection: Lesson Planning The Titanic: The Iceberg - Section 2: Setting a Purpose


Before asking students to complete today’s lessons, I would test the links on your school computer. Depending on how strict your district web filters are, students may not be able to view both videos. One is hosted by YouTube and if you’re like me, you can’t view anything on this site while at school. There are ways around this problem though. There is a Youtube Video Downloader available for different search engines online. They are simple to download and install. I’ve included a link to the extension on Chrome.

Objective: SWBAT conduct research around a given focus, record specific notes, and demonstrate understanding through a variety of questions.

Big Idea: Today students learn about icebergs. Through the use of a teacher created website, students read preselected passages about the topic and record pertinent facts.
