Reflection: Diverse Entry Points Magic Tree House Ancient Greece Dynamic Duo: Day 2 - Section 3: Lesson Part One: Informational Text

One strategy that I have found helpful is to reinforce the skills we are working on in my guided reading groups.  I see my students in guided reading groups any where from two to five times a week.  We have a good selection of leveled readers written for guided reading instruction in our school book room (Thank you, PTO!).  Students have composition books where they keep all of their writing assignments from guided reading throughout the year.  Offering students books at their instructional level allows them to practice a particular skill, such as main idea and supporting details, at a level that is not frustrational or too easy for them.
