Reflection: Quizzes Quiz 2: Assessing Decomposition & Mixed Number Problems - Section 2: Quiz 2: Administering the quiz


Unlike Quiz 1, not as many students mastered this one! I think the concepts were a large step forward and proved difficult for many of them. Four did not recognize when they needed to decompose fractions into improper fractions to subtract.  Others forgot to decompose their improper fractions within the sum. I assess this as meaning that they are not thinking about the significance of decomposition and the reasons behind its importance. This little movie clip compares three different examples of work.
