Reflection: Students with Disabilities Are We Good? Ancient Greek Philosophy and Socrates - Section 4: Taking Sides

Students with disabilities struggle with quality writing. I want to know what they learned but I also want them to practice creating good sentences that are correct in structure. What I do for this is modify the task of writing by going to each desk individually and explaining the writing expectation I have for them. I might change the task to writing their thoughts into complete sentences and have them focus on capitalization and word order and choice. While I set the expectations I check their thinking and ask for them questions that relate to what they learned during the discussion. This lets me focus their writing and assess verbally what they learned.
