Reflection: Checks for Understanding This Stands for What? Explaining Symbolism in The Scarlet Ibis - Section 2: Do Now: SSR


One thing I found out during the conferences is that some students did not have experience with symbolism. Some did not know what it was, so I prompted them to think about some symbols that we have in our society (heart =love; flag=freedom; dove=peace).  After a short explanation to clarify the meaning of symbolism, students were able to write about it.
