Reflection: Student Ownership Teach Me About Multiplication - Section 3: Presentations


I believe it’s important to make time during instruction to allow students to explain their work, present to their peers and to teach the rest of us about what they know. It makes it easier to see where students struggle and excel, and it often shows much deeper knowledge and understanding than you would traditionally see on a regular paper and pencil test. When students can verbalize what they know, show examples and answer questions they are working with a deeper knowledge than a multiple choice question.
