Reflection: Student Grouping What do We Say Now? Reviewing Qualities of a Good Book Club Conversation - Section 3: Small Group Conversation and Share

You can teach this lesson at any point in the unit, however, I taught this lesson after a few previous lessons so that they have something to reflect on. I ask them to think about how they can make their group conversations better and then reflect on what worked in their groups. For this particular lesson, we didn't get to share out loud with the class. I think that it more effective for other students to hear that a group was successful through using the list of expectations than just have then focus on their own group.

Although, I didn't have time to have them share with each other, I did ask them to record in their journal what went well so at least they did some small individual reflection.
