Reflection: Checks for Understanding Compare and Contrast - Section 4: Share

The students' completed Venn Diagrams can be used as a formative assessment.  Student #1needs to make some revisions on their Venn Diagram.  I will check in this this student and any other students who think that both Fu and Nicolai were searching for the answers to three questions.  I'm guessing that students think this because in the story, Fu Finds the Way, Fu learns the importance of purpose, flow, and patience.

But, he, unlike Nicolai is not actively searching for any answers, he only wants to get things done as quick as possible and is not very careful with his actions.

The Venn Diagram serves as an exit ticket, and is a great way for me to identify students to meet with in a small group.  I will lead a discussion about the similarities in both books. They will use the book to revise their thinking as a group and then to revise their Venn Diagrams.
