Reflection: Students with Disabilities Put B and D to Bed! - Section 3: Student Practice with B and D


I think it is important to have repeated practice, especially to provide an appropriate entry point for my students with disabilities.  Students with speech production problems, fine motor problems and visual difficulties really have a tough time with b and d.  I want to make sure that I give them plenty of time, in a non-threatening group environment, to practice this skill that they really have problems with.
It is important that my students have a chance to practice differentiating between b and d after I teach this lesson.  I want the cues to be fresh in my students' minds as I assess them; this will help them see that they indeed can figure out the difference!
