Reflection: What Can We Do With Math - Section 1: Getting Started


I have been teaching for over 30 years and yet every time I count for kids to pay attention, or to finish something, I always count forward. This year I have started counting back from 30 or 20. My students are counting with me and getting used to counting back. I think I could have really helped some students in the past if I had just made this simple switch. 

(Don't wait as long as I did.. count back rather than up!)
