Reflection: Homework Languages of the Old World: Breaking Down Word Parts - Section 5: Review


At the end of today, when the school day is just about over, I gave the students one more challenge: I asked them to look around tonight to see if they could find any of the Latin suffixes we learned about today at home!  I told students to keep their eyes peeled and look everywhere-in cookboox, on calendars, in magazines, anywhere!  Can't wait to see what they do with this little "extra" homework assignment!

Objective: SWBAT explain the function of nouns, verbs, and adjectives and determine how words change to different parts of speech when a known affix is added to word.

Big Idea: In this lesson, students take a closer look at Latin suffixes and learn about how adding these suffixes can change a word’s meaning and part of speech.
