## Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Text Structures: Problem and Solution - Section 2: Mini-Lesson

The Problem and Solution Text Structure is often confused with Cause and Effect because they are the most similar of the five. You can find Cause and Effect examples in almost every Problem and Solution example, however, there will not always be a problem in a Cause and Effect example. Students will need to understand that if they can identify a problem and there are one or more solutions, then it can be called Problem and Solution. My students and I have had many discussions about how these two Text Structures go hand in hand, and I agree with that.
