Reflection: Developing a Conceptual Understanding Mae Jemison: Using Complex text with topic, main ideas & supporting details - Section 2: Cue Set

This was super clear.  Scholars were able to identify topic, main ideas and supporting details without much support today.  The repetition of the type of activity really helped solidify understanding!  If I were to teach this again, I would teach this in the FIRST lesson where I target topic, main ideas and supporting details!  Also, you could expand the cue set into an entire lesson on its own.  Use Walmart, a grocery store  and perhaps a food court to really practice this skill of determining how 1 location is organized.

  GREAT hook!
