Reflection: Parent Communication Getting our Audiences Attention with a Great Introduction - Section 4: Closing the Loop

Not sure if all your students have computers at home, but some of mine do not and it sure makes it difficult when they have higher expectations like this. I had at least six who struggled with typing, understanding what to write in the search box for researching and with formating and using computer keys effectively. I have to be realistic with what I can teach in the time given so I reached out to my parents to help with working with these students a few days a week. I had four who emailed back and said they would and I set yup a schedule - priority given to when they showed to ensure they were benefiting from the time and one-on-one lessons.

I would encourage you to do the same to help build typing skills if you have parents who are willing. The other option I have used in past years is to have a small group typing time during recess or after school.
