Students will complete an assessment based on the what they have learned in the unit. I reviewed the lessons within this unit and selected the main points to create this assessment. The assessment consists of multiple choice questions, written response questions, and the opportunity to illustrate ideas. The students will identify the different processes that can change the observable properties of items as well as define and identify testable questions. I designed this assessment with many response types intentionally to give my students the opportunity to share what they know in different ways. My students in particular enjoy being given the opportunity to illustrate their ideas; and for some, that response method is best for them. The assessment has been included in the resource section.
