Poetic Device Analysis
Next students wrote a Poetic Device Analysis, explaining how two devices were used and impacted the parody. They used the Poetic Device Analysis template, previously glued in their notebooks, as a guide.
In order to ensure that rigor was addressed in this lesson, the template provided a guide for students to include details about the impact of figurative language within the parodies. In alignment with Common Core Writing Standards, as students used the analysis template as a guide, they intentionally incorporated details, textual evidence, and examples to convey ideas.
