To open class today, I want to show students one of my favorite versions of Hamlet and the famous "To be or not to be" soliloquy scene as an example of how a soliloquy should be performed. This is to get them talking about performance which they should begin working on today as they finish their scripts.
Class today is work time for groups. Scripts (see examples in my video and other resources) should be complete, but performance day is tomorrow so they need to get all lose ends tied up and practice in some way.
I'll ask students to get logged into their google page and start based on what they need to get accomplished while I facilitate and answer any questions.
Toward the end of the period, I will allow two tables at a time to practice their planned performance quietly on each end of the room.
To wrap up class today, I will ask students to do a status check to determine what they have accomplished and still need to do for tomorrow.
I will ask each table to report out and share progress.
