Today is Trailer Tuesday, so I will show students a book trailer or two depending on length. I select trailers for new release books and great books that students aren't picking up. (The link provided will take you to an earlier lesson with my reflection explaining more about my use of book trailers.)
There are several sites online for locating book trailers. A quick search on you tube will locate several. Of course, always preview the trailer before showing a class.
This lesson is a continuation of what we did yesterday, so students will take out the task from yesterday. Then, we'll have reading circle style meetings to discuss their findings for "Saturday School".
After students have had a chance to meet and discuss, we'll review the Oreo Reading Circle Sheet on screen together to correct misunderstandings, etc. (See attached Reading Circles-Oreo Style Saturday with my notes.) I'll alternate on screen between the Saturday School piece and the reading circle sheet to point out and discuss the connection between each section.
To wrap up class today, I'll have students complete an exit slip identifying the four key parts of an argument. (OREO)
