Today was Friday, which means it's quiz day. Today student find the errors completely independently and I use the grade as a formative assessment. There were nine corrections possible.
There were nine corrections total. I told students how many corrections there were in each line.
Yesterday I wrote a up a big old thing about how students were annotating their chosen song lyrics by visiting stations around the room. They didn't finish, so we continued the thing today.
I also had to run my students down to the health room for a bit so they could all get their height and weight numbers taken. We got a huge grant from the local hospital to increase physical education, and this is one of the things we need to do. And yay! English classes were selected for this. Unfortunately, I didn't know how long it would take until I got down there first hour, so continuing the station rotation activity worked out really well for me. We'll be done in one more day.
Have you noticed that station rotation is an example of assonance?
That's all I've really got to say about this.
In today's lesson picture, you can see my student working with her already heavily annotated lyrics.
