Students worked with their partner to revise their speech for accuracy and clarity in preparation for a presentation on how sound moves through the ear. They used the 3D animation and online videos about how sound moves through the ear to make sure their explanation was accurate.
I displayed my written piece on the life cycle of a frog on the document camera. I modeled looking at a diagram of the life cycle and comparing it to the steps I had written, making changes as needed.
Students worked with their partner on the revisions. They viewed videos on how sound moves through the ear to review the process and check their work for accuracy. Viewing the videos allowed them to pause and rewind the information at their own pace. This ensured all students had a full grasp of the process and was able to include all steps in the correct order.
I informally assessed students by reviewing their writing as they worked. I offered feedback if any part of the process was missing or inaccurate. I referred them back to the videos or a still photo of the diagram of the ear to aid in making corrections.
