Students have already been assigned to groups of 3 or 4. They have been given the Calculating Grades Performance Task and MathRubric, and they have had time together to work on their calculations. During the opening section of this lesson, students have 40 minutes to develop and choreograph their skits, as well as prepare all of their documents for submission.
It's showtime. Student groups will present their responses to the Performance Task. I call on the groups in random order to come up and perform their skits. As they are performing, I am taking notes on the Rubric.
After each presentation, I also make brief comments on what I particularly liked, and what I would like to see improved in future presentations. At the next class meeting, I will present each group with more detailed feedback and a sample rubric score.
