I include **Warm ups **with a **Rubric **as part of my daily routine. My goal is to allow students to work on **Math Practice 3 **each day. Grouping students into homogeneous pairs provides an opportunity for appropriately differentiated math conversations. The lesson Warm Up- Polynomial Review Day 2, explained in the Video, has students determine whether a polynomial is factorable (**Math Practice 7**).

I also use this time to correct and record any past Homework. The assignment on the previous day was a **Practice Test** to help the students prepare for the test. My students spend some time here to fill out the remainder of the spreadsheet which will help them determine which concepts they need to study.

This review activity was started on the previous day and is completed during this lesson. Each class will pick up where ever they left off. I compiled a list of the learning objectives covered in this unit which drove the test questions which directly affect this review. This is a variation of my pass the paper activity. Each page has two review problems which a pair of students will solve and then check each other’s work. As a class, we will discuss any problems that prove to be challenging.

The second section also has pairs of problems however this time the students solve their problem algebraically but check their partner’s work graphically (**Math Practice 3**). This forces the students to practice both methods discussed in this unit. As we go through these problems, we will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method to each problem type (**Math Practice 5**).

Today, the Exit Ticket asks students to list the concepts that they need to study in preparation for the test using the information from their corrected practice test. I find that making them write down these concepts increases their own sense of personal responsibility towards preparing the the summative assessment.
