I include Warm ups with a Rubric as part of my daily routine. My goal is to allow students to work on Math Practice 3 each day. Grouping students into homogeneous pairs provides an opportunity for appropriately differentiated math conversations. The Video Narrative specifically explains this lesson’s Warm Up- Function Test Review Day 2 which has students identify the slope of a line in standard form without solving for y (Math Practice 7).
I also use this time to correct and record the previous day's Homework.
In the previous lesson, the exit ticket asked the students to list the concepts that they would like to talk about in the second day of the review. That information guides the problems that I give them today during the review. My PowerPoint contains problems that review all of the objectives for the unit but I prioritize the problems and cover those first that were most requested. We will get through as many as possible. I run these as a Guided Practice.
The systems word problems came from the Kuta Software.
In today's exit ticket, students write a list of the concepts that they plan on practicing in preparation for the test.
