#### Huddle

*10 min*

For the Huddle in this lesson, I review Problem_3. Rather than go straight to the right answer, I ask a kid to disprove each of the wrong answers. I hold out until I get logical proof that each of the wrong answers is wrong, and then we work through why the right answer is right. Really important critical reasoning here!

Homework is to be completed at home and should take students approximately 15 minutes. The homework for this lesson is 9 - 6 HW123 Categorical data 2.

Thank you Mr. Li for this wonderfully organized unit. I have used your volume lesson for two years now and it gets better each time. We fill geosolids with salt and I use my nesting doll to develop the formulas. So I decided to check your lessons on bivariate data to see what unique strategies you may have to share. My students have enjoyed all the real life situations you have presented and they have quickly shared their own. One of the funniest "the more kids you have the less money you have". She admitted that her mom helped her on that one. The take away for me this one was measuring the distance and stacking it up to show the variance above and below with the colored markers. The students picked up on it and several have used it to defend how well their line fits the data.
