Today's Warm Up task consists of a single problem that requires students to interpret a geometric figure in a graph, and, apply their understanding of slope.

It is derived from EngageNY's materials on sample tasks related the 8th grade Common Core standards. I like it because it can be solved using both the methods we learned in previous days, as well as similar triangles. Kids generally stick to the method we use, but 1-2 kids per class can see the similar triangles work, especially when prompted.
