Today, students complete the Solve systems using substitution Day 3 warm-up that consists of spiraling the previous day's material, in addition to older material. In today's warm-up, I spiral two skills -- applying systems to real-life situations, and then using graphing to solve a system. It's important to give a little bit more time to the warm-up than usual today.
Warm-up problems also sometimes extend lessons that students have encountered before to more unfamiliar contexts.

The 5 - 5 HW64 Solve systems using substitution day 3 homework file includes problems related to this lesson, as well as spiraled review. I also give the kids the answers to the problems.
