Unit: Comma Placement
Cruella DeVil, the comma kidnapper, has always had a thing for spots. Why just the other day she was laughing about her diabolical plot to make a spotted fur coat from leopards, cheetahs, and Dalmatians. Lately, it seems she’s taken her obsession with spots to a whole new level, snatching commas, too. To stop this villain we must put the commas back in the right place and restore peace to the Grammatical Kingdom. This week of lessons features commas in a series, commas in a date, and commas in geographical locations. Just added: commas when adressing an individual and commas when using Yes or No.
SWBAT: use commas to correctly punctuate a series of three of more things. SWBAT: use commas to correctly punctuate a date. SWBAT: use commas to correctly punctuate geographic locations.
