Since kids are being asked to learn from home due to coronavirus, this will be a tough task to make children quickly adapt to the new learning environment. But there are a few things parents can do to prepare their child for distance learning at home.
1. Create a special space for your child
Does your child already have a special place to study? It’s essential to have your child study in a quiet, clutter-free place. In this way, your child can pay more attention to the study.
2. Reduce distractions
At home, there are various distractions like toys, pets, snacks, computer games, TV, etc. So you’d better make a list of the things that can distract your child, and then find ways to limit them during learning time.
3. Make a schedule and stick with it
Unlike school, there is no bell to alert children. A set schedule could help kids to be disciplined. Apart from the all set online courses, you can help your child to make a complete schedule for learning. Take a look at your family’s schedule and figure out the suitable times for learning.
4. Do exercise
Physical activity is not only an essential way to strengthen our health, but also an efficient way to reduce stress and prevent anxiety. Define a time and place in your home for physical activity to help child to relax and improve attention.
All in all, distance learning is a new experience and challenge for students. It is not easy to convert homes into classrooms, but parents can work with children to identify and remove barriers together.
