Lesson Objective

Students will explore national landmarks of the United States and China using various literature and media resources. Students will record their learning in a personalized note taker.

Students will explore U.S. National Landmarks through literature and website exploration (see suggested list in resources section).  

Students will explore Chinese National Landmarks through literature and website exploration (see suggested resources section).  The website section should be shared with students digitally through google docs.

During this exploration, students will have choice in their notetaker.  Students are required to explore at least five different landmarks, for each country, and record 2 to 3 facts about each landmark.

Note to Teacher: During this exploration, it is also important for students to have freedom to explore sites not identified by the teacher.  Please review technology guidelines with students and keep a record of reliable sites located to be used in future lessons.
