-Introduce a drum staff and compare and contrast it to a treble staff -Write a 4 beat rhythm that students label and can play on two instruments of a drumset -Tap quarter notes in 1 hand and eighth notes in the other.

Students can tap eighth notes in 1 hand and quarter notes in the other

 

Students will correctly label their 4 beat drum score using beat matrix, and the correct name of the instruments they want to use

Students will write a 4 beat rhythm for 2 instruments  and indicate the beats played on the beat matrix, and then will try to play that rhythm on a drumset.
