Lesson Objective
Students will learn to use affixes and roots to determine the meaning of a multisyllabic word.
Lesson Plan
Each grid is to be used with one week's set of words. I actually use each set of words for two weeks. I do this whole class but once students have a strong understanding of roots and affixes, it can be completed independently or in a literature center/workshop.
The words are from Month by Month Phonics for Upper Grades by Patricia M. Cunningham and Dorothy P. Hall.
