A Letter of Defense
To convince a judge to drop the charges of theft brought against Roger by District of Columbia for stealing by the Ms. Jones purse.
Student will either be the boy or Ms. Jones from Thank You Ma’m.
The target audience is the court judge and jury.
Students need to convince the judge and jury why Roger should be not be punished for his mistakes by using the textual support (plot, influence of setting, character development) to defend your argument.
Product, Performance & Purpose:
Students need to write a 3 paragraph letter to the judge defending the boy. Then you will prepare to deliver the letter to the judge and jury at trail. Teacher will be the judge and students will be the jury.
