### Lesson Objective

Students will examine the representation of Geometric figures in order to describe transformations of figures.

### Lesson Plan

Engagement (Warm- Up) 5 min.:
Determine if each figure is congruent or similar.
Display a square, a rectangle, and a  trapezoid.

Exploration (Notes) 10 min.:
Kinds of Transformations
1- Translation: to move from one location to the other.
2- Rotation: to change direction (turn)
3- Reflection: the mirror image is reflected across a line (Opposite image)

Explanation (Instructional) 20 min.:
Teacher will display / draw several images on the board and students will be asked to identify the transformation.

Once the students are comfortable with identifying the transformations, they will be responsible for drawing the transformation once prompted.

-Teacher will draw an image on the board.
-Volunteer students will pull a card from the bag and will have to draw the given transformation of that object.
- The remainder of the class will have to guess the transformation drawn.
