Course: Reading

This unit contains materials meant for the beginning of the year (introducing the classroom library, keeping a reading log) as well as materials to be used throughout the year in regular procedures (reading journals, self-evaluation, etc).

This is the first reading strategy unit of the academic year. It includes lessons on schema, the types of connections, distinguishing meaningful connections from less meaningful connections, and using connections to help improve understanding of a text.
