This session will engage students in compiling information, observations, and investigation data about life cycles, structures and functions, and care of living animals, in order to present to our first graders. This is a performance assessment.
After weeks of research and writing, students are ready to publish their work! They will design and draft each chapter, add text features, and color their final product. We work together to bind it in a book format.
The science and engineering practice 8 (Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information) is critical in the growth of scientific thinkers. This lesson will blend the content and the communication standards.
