Big Idea:Sometimes it's difficult to know just what to write. In this lesson, students complete various prompts that allow them to list several ideas that could serve as starters to their personal narratives.
Big Idea:After completing several short pre-writing activities, students have selected the one they like best to use as their final personal narrative writing project. Now, they must reflect on why they made this choice in order to narrow their topic.
Big Idea:Time to check for the little, but important details. Are the beginning of your sentences and capital nouns capitalized? Sentences punctuated? Words spelled correctly? Does your piece make sense to a reader? How about your t's and i's? Crossed and dotted?
Big Idea:After several weeks of drafting, revising, editing, and publishing, students finally are finished with their personal narratives. As a class, we celebrate all that has been accomplished over the last several weeks.
